note taking
Do you prefer physically taking notes on paper, or do you do everything digitally?
most of my note taking is on paper. although i very much like my computer, and technology, as well as how i can record and find a seemingly infinite amount of information... there's just something special about committing a thought to physical paper. whether it be for memorization or intent, it just feels more important
perhaps in this digital age, maybe that's the point i'm making when i put pen to paper. this is important enough to spill ink over. i like the sound of that. in college it was very beneficial for me to take notes on pen and paper. even if i never reviewed them, the act of writing them down made them stick in my head longer
i recently got a really nice journal and some fountain pens. i really love writing down positive affirmations at the moment. i'll write three or four down and then on the opposite page i'll place some stickers. i love it! it is so cute, and to go back to them again is always a treat
when it comes to notes these days, those are digital. i use a mix of obsidian and general bookmarking as note taking to keep track of interests or goals. i'm not the best at recording appointments however. that's an area i need to improve on. in the past i would write down a todo list for each day. my therapist and i are currently working on what she calls a "daily menu". i really do not enjoy having to tick off a list in order. priorities, deadlines, strict routine. these are not for me. but i know there are items every day that are important for me to do. so unless they have a specific time they need to occur, i'd instead prefer to take them in whatever i choose to
